UNDP Country Offices of Lesotho and Somalia and UN Systems in Eswatini, Uganda, The Gambia and Tanzania committed resources to develop country programmes (Lesotho, 2024-2028; Uganda 2021-2025; Somalia 2021-2025; Eswatini 2023 and The Gambia 2021), with a focus of accelerating the implementation of the SDGs and adopting an integrated and portfolio approach in their emerging priorities for augmented results. In each of the country, OWN and Associates Team provided technical assistance to ensure that the country programmes align themselves with the national priorities as expressed in the national development plans and regional and global strategic frameworks such as Agenda 20230 and AU Agenda 2063. The assignment included i) Review of legal and policy documents, sector strategic plans, and SDGs M & E documents and data; ii) Discuss and consensus building with various stakeholders in government, CSO, private sector, academia and the media on development issues and priorities; iii) drafting country development programme, and iv) facilitating workshops various stakeholders to validate country development programmes. OWN and associates drafted the country development plans; the Common Country Analysis (CCA) and Data sets for SDGs assessment. The products significantly influenced the countries to identify development proprieties and come up with the road map towards sustainable development and SDGs to 2030.Technical Support to the Operationalization of the National Council for Nomadic Education in Kenya (NACONEK), 2014-2015. This project involved strategic planning, policy review, and capacity development to support nomadic education, highlighting our commitment to enhancing educational access and quality.
